IAM Online Certificate in ICTThe Level 3 Online Certificate in ICT is designed specifically to meet the needs of learners aged 16 – 19 in schools and colleges requiring to develop practical ICT skills that support other learning. The qualification is 'employment focussed' and is suitable for adult learners already with some general knowledge and skills in IT. The qualification gives learners practise in the use of software applications used by professionals across the world and requires learners to demonstrate ICT skills in context. The qualification will equip candidates with the knowledge and practical ICT skills required for future success in further and higher education, employment or continuous professional development. The qualification provides a good skills basis for progression to a National Diploma or First degree in e-Commerce, Multimedia, Business Administration or IT practitioner. The implementation and teaching of ICT across the Post 16 curriculum is supported by the qualification online courseware resources. These offer schools and colleges the opportunity for using online teaching and learning resources that can help to improve the ICT skills of the whole school or college community. The online courseware can assist the engagement of parent, guardian or partner in the learner's progress towards attaining advanced ICT skills, through the encouragement of independent e-learning at home or work via Intranet facilities. IAM Online Certificate in ICT is designed particularly to meet the needs of senior school pupils age 16-19 in International and Independent Schools and Colleges. The interactive course equips individuals with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for future success in advanced secondary education, future employment, or for entry to degree courses and other Level 4 Awards. It offers students a specialised route into further ICT study and reflects university and industry needs for desired ICT skills. Its unique selling point is that it has been designed by IT teachers to involve non-IT teachers in its delivery in the school or college curriculum. Learners can work at their own pace, engaging with the animated tutor and interacting with the courseware. Developed and trialled at leading independent schools, the implementation and teaching of ICT across the curriculum is supported by this new online course. It has been designed by IT staff with a good working knowledge and experience of the wider curriculum programmes. This is underpinned by the relationship of the units. They move from knowledge and understanding of IT to the ability to practically apply ICT skills in other curriculum areas. Students are required to carry out indepth projects that demonstrate their ICT capabilities. Aims of the Course
